DESCRIPTION

Narrows Road Over Chateaugay Narrows
60′ Span x 14.42′ Rise Versa Multiple Radius

An emergency replacement was needed for a bridge carrying Narrows Road over Chateaugay Narrows in northern New York state. Boat clearance requirements and access, even during construction, was a concern in addition to minimizing the duration of a long detour required by road closure.

The custom-designed Versa™ Series Multiple-Radius twin-leaf arch was a perfect fit. Cranes set on each side of the lake set matching pieces without the need for temporary shoring in the water. Use of modular precast components installed on the existing foundation helped to minimize road closure and detour time.
